Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Over the past 10 years, we have been working with our clients in both Ireland and Europe to provide solutions in sectors such as Data Centres, Semiconductor & Life Sciences as well as Hospitality, Leisure and Public sectors.

We are now recruiting a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to work on behalf of our client at their project on a major semiconductor construction site in Kildare. 

Job title:  Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Location: Leixlip, Co. Kildare

EU Work Permit essential

Position reports to:  Onsite Project Manager

Length of contract: 12 months +

Salary: Negotiable

Responsibilities:  

  • Review and understanding project contract documentation
  • Preparing and analyzing supplier and subcontractor enquiries
  • Preparation and issuing of contract documents to our supply chain
  • Monitoring change in our scope of work and pricing of variations
  • Preparing and agreeing Monthly progress applications
  • Financial and contractual control of subcontractor accounts
  • Issuing of contractual notices and evaluate loss and expense/acceleration claims
  • Providing fast, accurate, competitive and profitable estimates
  • Preparation of monthly commercial project reports
  • Provide Data and analysis of issues & risks as required by Management
  • Managing and forecasting of project Cash flows
  • Liaising with the client, main contractor and other departments
  • All other duties associated with this role

Essential Criteria for the role:

  • Academically (Degree) qualified and/or relevant experience in the industry
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a QS role
  • A wide understanding of work contracts
  • A working knowledge of Mechanical Work Packages
  • A high level of numeracy
  • Able to negotiate with clients on a professional level
  • Experience in use of Excel a requirement
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Valid Manual Handling and Safe Pass certificates
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU
